I have grouped these two brands together since they are very similar products to the point of being almost identical. Both brands are allergy friendly, being free of the top allergens including milk, gluten, peanuts, tree nuts, soy, and egg. They also taste very similar, being smooth, with a milk chocolate taste. Maybe it’s because they share similar ingredients: sugar, cocoa butter, unsweetened chocolate, and rice syrup. However, Enjoy Life has a slight advantage, being made in an allergy friendly facility. It is also kosher and Halal certified.
The first ingredient in these round bites is bittersweet chocolate, which also describes the taste because it is very bittersweet. While the coconut milk caramel tastes like milk caramel, the chocolate does not taste like milk chocolate. However, the caramel center is creamy with a mild vanilla taste which offsets the bittersweet chocolate flavor. It is dairy free, gluten free, vegan and non-GMO.
If you miss Hershey’s chocolate bars, No Whey and Enjoy Life have good dairy free alternatives. They taste sweet and smooth like milk chocolate. The caramel center in Cocomel balances the bittersweet chocolate, which has a flavor more like dark chocolate than milk chocolate.
