“To feel safe and warm on a cold wet night, all you really need is soup” is a great quote by author Laurie Colwin, which captures the essence of soup. As temperatures start to dip, many of us will be reaching for this comfort food. Not only does it provide solace from a cold winter night, and aid in fighting a cold, a hot bowl really does seem to warm the soul. Most soups contain gluten or dairy, or both, as with French Onion Soup which contains bread AND cheese. However, there are brands that make soup without either- Pacific Foods, Wolfgang Puck, Amy’s, Dr. McDougall’s, Safe Harvest and Lotus Foods.
