There are cookies. And then there are gourmet cookies. Cookies that taste like they should be reserved for special occasions. Cookies you eat with coffee or serve at a party. Glutenetto makes such cookies. Two flavors, Amaretti and Ricciarelli are unbelievably gluten and dairy free.
Described as artisanal Italian cookies, the amaretti cookies are fancy, amaretto flavored macaroons. They are crunchy, yet soft and chewy in the middle. They are made from almonds, orange and vanilla extracts. Ironically, I discovered them at TJ Maxx and Marshalls, where I surprising have discovered great gluten & dairy free products (https://liveglutenanddairyfree.com/hidden-gluten-and-dairy-hidden-treasures/). They rate as my favorite gluten and dairy free cookies.
The cookies are traditional Tuscan wedding cookies with orange and almond flavors. They are just as delightful as the amaretti cookies. They are made from almonds, corn starch and rice flour and sprinkled with pure cane powdered sugar. They also come in chocolate.

The cookies have an old fashioned taste, similar to Famous Amos, which also contains molasses. This is my favorite chocolate chip cookie. They are made with oats, chickpeas, potato starch, tapioca, sorghum and fava. They are free from gluten, peanuts, tree nuts, milk, and eggs. And they are also non-GMO verified, kosher & vegan, but contain soy.
The cookies are tasty like Lucy’s, minus the molasses, which I prefer since it has more of a nostalgic taste. They are made with almonds, tapioca starch and coconut. They are free of grains, soy, corn, dairy & gums/emulsifiers and are non-GMO.
The cookies are very soft with a milk chocolate chip taste. They are made with buckwheat flour, which despite its name, does not contain wheat. I rate them last because I taste the dough more than the chocolate chips. Like all of Enjoy Life products, they are free of most common allergens, including dairy, soy and gluten. They are also kosher and halal certified.
Pamela’s Chunky Chocolate Chips – may contain traces of milk.
The cookies are made with a gluten free flour blend of rice, potato, tapioca and corn. They are soft and have a great zesty lemon flavor without being too sour. I love their quote “when life gives you lemons, thank life for the free lemons and use them.” They are free of gluten, dairy, eggs, soy and GMO ingredients. They also contain no high fructose corn syrup, synthetic sugars, preservatives, hydrogenated oil, or artificial flavoring.
This cookie reminds me of Girl Scouts Lemonade cookies. They are thin and crispy with a refreshing lemon flavor. They are made with oat flour and tapioca starch. They are free of peanuts, tree nuts, eggs, dairy, wheat and gluten. Also, no soy, rice, sesame, or corn.
Both are made with real lemon juice and have a great tangy flavor.

I like the story behind this brand. Cybele Pascal calls herself the allergy-friendly cook. When her son was diagnosed with severe food allergies, she tied on her apron and began baking from scratch. Her cookies are made from oats, rice, potato and tapioca. The oatmeal raisin cookies are soft and chewy with the perfect amount of raisins and cinnamon. They are also baked in a dedicated, allergy friendly facility and free from the top 8 allergens: dairy, eggs, wheat, soy, peanuts, tree nuts, fish and shellfish. It is wonderful that we, along with her son, have a tasty alternative to traditional cookies. She ends her story with “You are now Free to Eat!” Yes, indeed Cybele, great job.
I really wanted to like these cookies. Raspberry jam is sandwiched between two vanilla cookies and lightly dusted with powdered sugar. While the jam is delicious and does not taste like overly sweet jar jam, the vanilla cookies are very grainy. While I love the raspberry jam filling, the cookies are too gritty to enjoy. They are made with rice flour, potato and tapioca starches and are gluten and dairy free.
The wafers are a bit grainy, but not as much as the linzer cookies. I don’t know how they did it, but the wafers taste like Keebler Vanilla Wafers and are delicious with the intoxicating taste and smell of vanilla. Kinnikinnick’s slogan is “gluten-free has never tasted so good” which is fitting for their products. My only disappointment is that the package included a vanilla custard recipe for their banana pudding and the custard calls for milk. Because the wafers are dairy free, I feel they should have included alternate milk in the recipe as an option.
The cookies are the gluten and dairy free version of Oreos. They are crunchy and the filling is sweet enough without being overly sweet.
I don’t know how this brand does it, but all the reviewed cookie flavors are gluten free versions of the real thing. The cookies have the taste and crunch of graham crackers. My only regret is that I did not discover them during summer when I could have made s’mores with them.
All three cookie flavors are made with pea starch, rice flour, tapioca starch and potato starch. They are also free of nuts, soy and peanuts.
Newman O’s Wheat-Free Non Dairy – while the cookies are wheat and dairy free, they are not gluten free, containing barley.
The cookies are soft and have a strong, but not overwhelming cinnamon flavor. When microwaved for a few seconds, they taste like homemade cookies. They are made with buckwheat flour, cinnamon and vanilla extract. Traditional snickerdoodles cookies contain butter, which makes them soft and puffy, but these cookies are dairy free, along with free from the most common allergens including peanuts, gluten, soy, and egg.
With the holidays coming up, these cookies would make great desserts on a platter. But you don’t have to wait until then, they also make great snacks to satisfy a sweet tooth.
There are eight basic types of cookies: bar cookies, drop cookies, molded cookies, no-bake cookies, pressed cookies, refrigerator (ice box) cookies, rolled cookies and sandwich cookies.
